TECHNOLOGY IN THIS DIGITAL AGE WILL MAKE DENTISTRY BETTER, PRECISE AND COMFORTABLE

Complete Family Dentistry was thriving the last few years to put together a completely digital office. In order to acquaint our patients to understand how technology can make them feel better and deliver excellent results of their dental work in a short time, we need you learn about the tools we possess that make you understand how we accomplish this.

There are two components that make dentistry stand out in the digital age. First, are the equipment we use, and second are the software that come with them.

CONE BEAM CT

Cone Beam Computer Tomography developed from the old bulky claustrophobic CAT SCAN machines in the past to help dental professionals to acquire 2D and 3D images with less radiation and less time to process. These images are very useful in a variety of dental fields such as Implant Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Endodontics and Orthodontics.

Cone Beam CT encourages patients to come to the dental office because it is more comfortable compared to the discomfort experienced when taking individual X-rays. It makes them see the issues they are having with a 3D images because they cannot read 2D images as dentists do.

INTRA-ORAL CAMERA

This is a great tool for closely observing parts of the mouth that sometimes it is so hard to see. Patients really appreciate it when you show them why they need a filling, a crown or a root canal. It makes them trust the dentist and they will go along with the process. Thanks to advanced technology, these cameras became smaller and more compact to use producing very high quality images. Not only Intra-oral cameras can show patients what they need, but it makes diagnosis easier especially when the image can be compared to a future image and makes documentation easier because a picture can tell a thousand words.

OPTICAL SCANNER

An Optical Scanner is not only an intra-oral camera, but it is also the next era of intra-oral scanning. It combines a 2D image of an intra-oral camera into a 3D image. Patients can see their teeth in animated way with touchscreen capabilities. An Optical Scanner is also a replacement tool for taking dental impressions. Say no more to runny impression material with awful taste and bulky trays. Patients who have a strong gag reflex appreciate this tool because it slides gently through the mouth and snaps quickly when patients begin to gag.

Besides these advantages of Optical Scanner for patients, there are a myriad of possibilities for the dentist to take these images and use them in diverse clinical applications. For example, the acquired optical data can be shared anywhere to the dental laboratory and there is no need to be mailed anymore. These images can be converted into different files using software that integrate with CT imaging software or CAD-CAM software or 3D printing software. This integration of different software can do precise treatment planning of implants surgical procedures or precise dental provisional and permanent restorations.
